PP-MWD

The positive pulse measurement while drilling system (PP-MWD) is based on the temporary restricting of the  drill string mud flow to create a series of pressure spikes that forms a pulse waveform where it is then transmitted to the surface and decoded. Downhole configurations are fully modular adding the flexibility of adjustments specific to the BHA. Reliable surface decoding is further enhanced with the added option of wireless systems for long-range communications between rig and command center. A quality sensor measurement is made possible through industry standard magnetometer and accelerometer packages, including API standardized gamma ray modules. The PP-MWD tool is fully retrievable and re-insertable for added confidence in lost in hole situations. PP-MWD applications are available with the optional rotary flow switch IRFSI that can significantly improve run durations and reduce unnecessary pulser operation by switching the tool into a standby mode under rotation.
